I have an opportunity to get pure Canadian maple syrup in quarts for $17. a quart. Shipping is $5.58 for two quarts. I can order as many as wanted. Please let me know as soon as possible, since prices may increase at any moment. PM or email.

That sounds like a great price.
Do you know if it's organic?

No, but I can ask. It's coming from Trader Joe's in So. California, so that is a possibility. I don't think there are any Trader Joes in this part of the country, but if anyone is near one they could check too.

Is Maple Syrup expensive and/or harder to get in WY? We are spoiled because we have a local source here in Michigan.
-
The buyers for Trader Joe's are brilliant. Reading this thread makes me wonder
if there's a way to buy wholesale quantities from TJ and ship to WY.
.... just checked their site and they don't sell online and they don't franchise the stores.
Still, as Linda described 'bountiful baskets' it seems like a retail version with TJ is
possible with a local contact in the right state.
Just a thought,
Terence

It started like this. The only real Maple syrup available here in Newcastle is terribly expensive, and what I found at WalMart so far is pretty much the same. It is just as expensive on line, far as I could find. I mentioned this to my sister in So. Calif. She said she could get Canadian Maple syrup in quarts from Trader Joes where she lives for $17. Shipping by USPS in their "all you can stuff" box would be $5.58 for two bottles.
Personally, I don't much care about where the syrup comes from, as long as it is not diluted or adulterated. If anyone can find some for less, I'm all for it. :) My sister just wondered if anyone else would like to have a quart, since it would cost the same to ship one bottle as two of them - and multiples would be just as easy for her to ship as one box. It's not like she's planning on going into a business selling maple syrup from Trader Joes... just trying to get some to me for a good price and we thought we might offer it to FSW folks too.

Sam's Club has real maple syrup for sale. 13.28 for a quart

That's sounds good! I wonder if they have that in Rapid City? I'm not a member there, so would need to go with someone who was. Buying a membership for one item doesn't seem to be helpful. LOL But I'm glad to know that it is available.

I love 100% real maple syrup. I use it all the time. I do not like the Aunt Jemina 'syrup' which is mostly corn syrup and other sugars.
King Soopers in Cheyenne has a generic brand and two non-generics of 100% maple syrup in 8-12 oz bottles. In these smaller glass bottles, 100% maple syrup runs from $18 - $23 per quart which is about the same price as via the Internet if shipping is included. And as food is not taxable in Wyoming, there's no cost advantage of buying food on the Internet.

There's a Trader Joe's in my neck of the woods. I'll check if it's organic.

I have been buying Sam's Maple syrup for a long time and it is good. Sometimes the price is better than other times. It is usually always better than anywhere else.....

I never did get to Sam's in Rapid City, but a very kind person did gift me with a lovely bottle of Maple Syrup at the "Jam." I'm savoring it with great joy. :) Try it in a banana smoothie. Out of this world. Thanks again, everyone.

Allow me to indulge in some tasty memories... if only to make you all jealous: In Ottawa, one can get 5 litres for $20 straight from the guy who made it. Oh, those were the days...
I haven't found any good deals around here. Only the expensive stuff at Walmart (which is actually cheaper than what we would buy in Alberta!); but if I find any better deals than what have been mentioned here, I'll be sure to share!

Try ebay for maple syrup. The prices vary but you can find some good deals, especially if you buy a gallon. I haven't bought any there yet but I plan to soon. I've found it for about $58 for a gallon with free shipping.
