Title: Pristine Honda XR650L
Post by: DarkSide on January 25, 2013, 08:34:40 AM
This is a 2009 model, but I bought it as "New - Old Stock" in October 2011.  It had 7 miles on it and came with full warranty.  It now has 455 miles on it and other than a little dust it looks like it just rolled out of the showroom.  Always stored covered in heated shop.  Some extras.  Asking $5000.  PM me for photos if interested.

I had to look this up for a visual...here's the description from Honda:

Quote
If you're looking for one motorcycle that can do it all, Honda's time-tested XR650L is that machine. Off-road it has the power, suspension, and durability a dirt rider demands. On-road its light overall weight, electric starter and excellent fuel economy make it the perfect commuter, even for long trips.

Its bulletproof 644cc overhead cam engine produces huge torque and power. Air cooling keeps things simple and reduces maintenance chores. And the engine’s gear-driven counterbalancer reduces tiring vibrations.

Baja tough, the XR650L has the versatility to take you anywhere you want to go on a motorcycle, without the hassle of having to trailer a dirtbike. New graphics for 2012 keep it looking up to date, too.

Emphasis mine.   ;)

Impressive; I like it!

Yeah, I've always loved the power of these bikes.  I weigh 240 and it will easily stand up on the back tire and stay there as long as I want it to.  And it will go pretty much anywhere you would expect to take a hardcore dirt bike.  I just don't have time to play with it properly.   >:D  Thinking about getting a Harley or something for a change.  This one hasn't even been off the road.  I'll see if I can't get some pics to post...

It's quite nice and if I had some extra FRN's laying around, I would consider it.

I was, however, being a bit of a wise gal when I bolded the 'bulletproof' comment...thinking that is a bold claim (and would be quite handy in the current climate!).   :D

Good luck!

Lol, they're a pretty tough engine alright, but I doubt if the magnesium casing would truly stop much in the way of high velocity heavy metals.   ;D

Lol, how about a Barrett 98B in .338 Lapua with a 5-22x US Optics scope mounted on it.  I'd reluctantly take that in trade...    >:D

I'll take it, depending on the optics of course.  It'll look good next to my M99.   ;)

I think I'm gonna keep it though.

Those are awesome bikes.

Wish I could afford it.  As it is, it's all I can do to afford a $1500 650 Maxim...

The sale fell through so this is available again.  Updated the photos above and mileage is now 473.

That's a great machine, with enough power for the highway and longer trips.
If I didn't already have something like this, I'd buy it.

Hope it goes to an FSWer.
