I have found a really good reason to go to a job interview in October. Hunting season.
I figured that I would try my hand at your "goats".
I plan on hunting in area 140, near laramie. I am thinking of roughing it and camping for a few days.
Is the weather prohibitavely cold in the beginning of NOV? I don't want to be miserable, but chilly is OK.
Also, I will have a rangerbuddy of mine with me, but I would like to have a POC in case I run into unforseen troubles. Any one interested in being a safety blanket?

Rangermonroe, are you saying you might need a backup hunting buddy? Have you hunted goats before? The weather that time of year can do almost anything so just layer , be prepared , and you will be fine. Miles

Rangerm,
Laramie is at 7,000 ft+ altitude.
Wyomings Oct/November weather in the Laramies/Snowy Mtns will be hot to bitterly freezing cold. from dry to blizzard conditions, windy or calm ........ OR......... everything inbetween. I hope that answers yer question.
No, I'm not being smart or cute, I'm trying to answer yer question.
Are ya camping in a tent or camper unit? Will it have heating capability? What kind? Do ya have a good vehicle suited for Wyoming off road use? Is it properly equiped with mud/snow tires, tire chains, tow/recovery strap, hi cap gas tank, etc?
There are a few of us in Laramie or close to ther,. but I'm a bit to far away for a safety net.

Thanks guys.
Miles, youre always welcome to go hunting with me. I forgot that you were "here " too.
I am planning on renting a "car" not an off road vehicle. I am planning on , weather permitting, cutting costs by sleeping in my tent. No it does not currently have a heater.
Nasty or freezing weather and I'll camp at the motel six.

Well, my ranger buddy cant go...work and such...so it looks like it will be Dad, the boy, and I.
Got the tags in the mail today! First choice, area 104. Gonna do the hotel camping, Dad can't do the cold ground and I have ceased to like it.

"area 104".
104 Antelope? I cant find a 104 deer.
A-104 ? That's outta Cheyenne, eh? That's mostly private land, access is hard ta get and costly when ya find it A-104 is about the same as D-60, it's listed as a hard public access area by G&F. I hope ya did yer homework! If not ya better get on da blower & do some fast talkin!
Wish I could help more, but I know nothin else bout it. See, there ARE somethings I don't know? :o
