Title: Moving back someday
Post by: bigdog82644 on September 07, 2006, 05:45:58 AM
I lived in wyoming for over 23 years. I was in oilpatch. I got tired of it and got out of it and state of wyoming. I sure wish I was back in the state. We will have our house here in the Tennessee paid off in 5 1/2 years and we are moving back!!!
Sooner if we win a lottery. Or if these housing prices keep going up and somebody wants this place. Ha, ha. I have missed the people, hunting, fishing, and just getting out and bieng alone. Here I feel like a bug in a jar. Everyplace here I go I bump into other people.

wyomiles I worked all over wyoming, and the other western states, pretty much ever place they had oilwells. I started in rocksprings in the mid seventies and workked in several towns in wyoming. I got transfered out of state a couple times but always came back to wyoming. I do know alot of people that are/were in it. I worked mainly in the fishingtool/rental tool part of it. I worked through several merges, buyouts, takeovers and lastly ones that just left and went back wherever they came from. I worked alittle in it again in 2004 and got out again, in 2005. We moved here in 2005.

I feel your pain BIGDOG. I left Wy and tried a go of it While I was in the Marine Corps and then again with an ex-wife. We lived in Florida and then Maine. Your bug in the jar comment really struck home. Moved back 9 years ago married a kindred spirit form the Wind River Basin and will never leave again. By the way, I've spent most of my carrer in the patch with the last 9 years being spent at the Lost Cabin Gas Plant in Lysite. Keep up the fight and bring it on HOME. Good luck, Paul. PS, My first wife lives in Tenn. Small world.

Howdy countrymech, I think you showed up with out me saying Howdy.  I worked with a guy in Denver who said he had spent some time at the Lysite plant. Do you think there will be any new gas plants built when they get all of the drilling and pipelines done?     Miles

By the way how did you guys find the FSW forum ?

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I learned of the forum on another that I frequent. Homesteadingtoday.com has been a wealth of information for us in many areas as we try to get our 13 acres up and running. Any how I will try to post a formal introduction when I get a chance. Does your frien happen to work for WGI or Raytheon?
