Title: Update from the PRI
Post by: bear0u812 on May 01, 2007, 04:08:46 PM
Greetingg to all my friends here in the FSW,

A lot has happened in the last few weeks, for starters, update on my son. I had a phone mediation 2 weeks ago, and the only good thing is, Austin is now legitimized and I have rights to him now, and he will be up here visiting me for the month of June. The bad news is, we are going to trial/hearing in front of the judge. My attorney still thinks we have a very good case, but it will be an uphill battle because of the laws in GA. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

My Brother-in-law has made it back from Iraq, and he was awarded a Bronze Star, for not losing anyone on his team, and aparently surviving more than the 2 IED's he told us about. I have told him of the FSW, and he is extremely intrested, don't know if he has made anyposts yet, but he should shortly.

And now the big news. I am now offically Engaged. Caryn and myself will be tying the knot on Sept the 8th. I still have that free falling w/o a parachute feeling right now. And there will be more details to follow.

Have to run for now, just wanted to let everyone know I have not fallen off the earth, just working my butt off and trying to get .308 stockpiled. Keep the faith

Best of luck to ye.

I've "been there, done that"... on the kids, and the sibling.

On Easter Sunday, my sister got back from seven plus months in Bagdad.

If you've got your son for June, bring him with you to the Jam. Should be plenty of other kids there to keep company with. I've got my three for June also, and they'll be coming with us this year.

Hope to see you in June, and do bring your children.
Lots of others to play with then.

Just worked out the finances w/ the missus, and unfortunately we have to put in a new septic system, so the jam is out this year, bummer. But my supervisor at work, who is a Marine, and is reading my copy of BGB, has a friend who has some land here in the PRI. So a day of shooting, instruction and stress relief, will most likely be in order. Just getting a bit excited, my boy will be here, woo hoo!!!!!!!. Anyways, everyone have fun at the Jam. and if ever in thr People's Republik of Illinois, drop a line, I am now in the safest neighborhood in lake county. ;D

talk to you all in about a month.

A real let down of a week this week, my custody hearing was rescheduled for sometime in October, it was supposed to be this past Wed.  My plan was no matter what the outcome I wanted to get all of FSW members and associates and anyone else interested here in occupied territory for a mini-Jam. It has been over 8 months scince I have been to any kind of range, and I definatelly need the stress relief. Unfortunately, I still have 2 more months at least to keep paying on my Attorney, on top of the other bills, so any kind of ammo purchase or range time is on hold for the time bieng. Good news is I have been working out for a PT test for the Fox Lake PD out here, Hoping mabey I can get on and mabey make a difference here till I can get out there. Anyways gotta run for now, 6 hrs till I have to be up for work. Y'all keep the faith.

What a shame! I know they do that just to wear you down. Just remember that many here (and all over) keep you in their thoughts and prayers!

Good luck with the new job... take some deep breaths and pace yourself.... you'll make it home to Wyoming one day!

God bless and keep you - and the children! MamaLiberty

Good news everyone!!! My Ex's atty had filed a motion w/ the court to seal several letters/affadavits from friends and family regarding my character, and it was shot down!!!!  And I have now found out that GA law is not anymore geared toward the mother, but rather what is in the best intrests of the child, so now my chances have increased a lot. just have to make it through Oct 2nd. will keep y'all informed

Well , we had Court on the 2nd of Oct, in GA, but was rescheduled due to too many cases bieng heard that day. Fortunately we are going to have a special hearing  where we will be the only case heard by the judge that day, Unfortunately its looking like jan or Feb '08 till that happend. My son's mother said I could have him for thanks giving because she is already planning a X-mas trip up to NY, But she is "unable" to meet me halfway in Lexington KY, or let him fly accompanied. Either I have to spend 6 days total travelling down and back to Atlanta, or $1000 for plane tickets,(2 rt tix for myself just to escort him). Anyways, on a good note, found some .308 and 30/06 ammo for approx $150 for 500 rnds. any one interested let me know, especially those of you still here in the peoples republik.

Darn, Kirby, that's terrible! What is the big deal about the child flying unaccompanied? Kids do it all the time. Unless he's breast feeding, there should be no question about it. Sounds like a delay tactic to me. sigh...

Hang in there, dear! MamaLiberty

Dear Friends,

Just a quick update.  On Friday the 22nd of this month I have the custody hearing for my son finally. according to my atty, it is about a 50/50 chance of getting him, but regardless, it will still be a win-win for me. I will have a court order for his mom to obey especially for visitation.  I just finished midterm exams for the electrical union here in occupied territory, aka Chicago. I have been informed that as soon as I finish the program and recieve my "A" card I can go anywhere in the US of A to work union or non-union. So I just have to convince my fiance about all the benifits of living out in WY. on a better note, my future brother-in-law, had given me a beautiful remington model 12 .22 pump rifle. slight rusting on the barrel, clean on the internals, perfect bore, and in the process of refinishing the stock and pump. I'm thinking a good starter for my son when the time is right. Anyways keep the faith, and your powder dry. God bless from the peoples republik of illinois.

I appologize for the wait, but my hearing was this past Friday, and I did not have access to a computer till now. Long Story short, I did not get my son. What did happen is joint custody, so I have equal say in decisions regarding my son, but in the case of a disagreement, she has final say. I do have a very, I hate to use this word, liberal visitation. x-mas is split in half, I get new years this year, and thanksgiving, and easter. summertime is 15 of june thru 15 july, 4 weeks but I do get the fourth from here on out. Anyways thats the summary, still a bit messed up about the loss. But I will pull through. Thank you to everyone here for the support, I really appreciate it. One of these days I will get out there for the jam w/ my son in tow. Thanks again.

Hmmm, how do you have "equal say" if she gets to veto anything she doesn't agree with? Bummer, big time!

I really feel for you, and just hope you can manage to maintain a good relationship with both of them. The most destructive thing in a case like this is the poisoning of the children's mind by the parent's negative comments against each other.

God bless and keep you both. God willing, you'll come home to Wyoming some day.

Kirbey, I had a female friend go through a messy custody battle so I know how trying this must have been for you. My friend, the former housewife, did not get joint custody (nor did she have a competent lawyer), but she did get partial. I am very glad that you *at least* have "joint" custody. I am sure you will make the best of it, and perhaps when your son is older you can make other arrangements through the courts or otherwise. Bless you and your family.
