I was at an appleseed shoot in Guernsey back in '06 and met Boston briefly. Out of nowhere he popped up in my memory and did some quick searching on the net, and found this site. Hopefully I can meet some folks around Cheyenne and Laramie to chat with. I have met Biathalon at the Appleseed... but now I am really the new guy!
Born in West NE, lived in Eastern WY, moved to AZ, enlisted in AF, PCS to Ellsworth SD (beautiful) then sent right back home. Hopefully 3 more years here and no orders north for rocket science!

What do you find beautiful about Ellsworth? I found it pretty typical of military installations. I grew up on Marine bases in California and am a Navy widow... so I've seen a few. <G>

The Black Hills are absolutely beautiful! It was nice to go there to 4 wheel, picnic and do some shooting. Did some caving too while I was there. I got in with a grotto a friend was a member of and went along as a guest quite a bit.
I haven't been back in a while even though my inlaws still live there... but unfortunately the gambling is really making its mark there. There are casinos everywhere. It is also like that in Great Fall MT now.
If there were jobs there that I could do, I would consider trying to get back there, but we have some pretty deep roots in Cheyenne now.

I too love the Black Hills. That's why I live here! Or maybe it's the Bear Lodge Mountains that I live in. I don't know. They're beautiful though!

I see! I love the Black Hills too, and live near them, just never equated that with Ellsworth AFB!

Well, if I ever decide to take a trip up there with my wife to visit Jabba the Hut... woops, my mother in law, I will try and see if I could bypass through "Nuke." Is that restaraunt in an old mill still open on Hwy 16?

Yes it's still open and doing well. It's also for sale, though I don't know why. Hope nobody wrecks it. :)

Nope she doesn't read the forum. And she does know what I refer to her mom as. The thing is that her mom was not the epitome of motherhood then and now. My wife is closer to my mom than her own!
CINCHOUSE actually does listen to me about politics, world situations, immigration etc. But she does think that I am a little too paranoid. Her words not mine. One officer I work with said that I should have been in the CIA!

Gabby, I'm also in the AF at FEW. Been here since last year (PCS'd from Fort Dix/McGuire). I was also up at Ellsworth back in 93-95. This is my retirement assignment if things work out.
If you look at that map posted by Fran in a thread in the "Blackballed and Blacklisted", and you go all the way to the top right; in the Hotel flight, and find the number 1. Thats my home for approximately 12 days a month. All the other days I'm off and I hit the prairie or hills to do some shooting.
