There are some, but they don't seem to spend much time on this forum, if I'm not mistaken.

If you haven't been to Four Winds Trading Post, yet, stop in sometime.  IIRC, Warren & Robin Kruse moved to Thermopolis back in the FSW-Discuss days, before this forum was created.  Warren's also heavily involved with the Ron Paul campaign & meetups.

First of all, thank you both for replying.  I know Robin and Warren and they are wonderful.  I am not an official member of FSW, having been born and raised here, took a 40 year hiatus, and came back 3 years ago.  I started reading the posts when I read about the group in our newspaper.  Just stay on to help with any questions about the area.

Thanks marciab for hanging out with us. It's always nice to have locals on board.

Hi,  Marciab,

Big Ugly here, from the Lander/Riverton area.
When the weather cooperates and the roads aren't slick we ride to Thermop fairly often.
There is nothing like pushing Jezebel through the canyon.
I've been thinking about selling out here in Lander and buying someplace closer to Riverton/Shoshoni.
Really should have bought some 'wide open' instead of the house in town.
Requirements with work pretty much forced the purchase in town.
Oh, Well, life goes on .... and keeps changing.

Hi Big Ugly,

We live 13 miles west of Thermopolis on 35 acres - I grew up in Grass Creek, which is an oilfield/ranching aea 32 miles west of Thermopolis.  Love living out of town.  I do not know about real estate around Shoshoni or Riverton, but there are several large parcels available around Thermop.  The canyon can be a very treacherous drive in the winter.  If I can be of any assistance, let me know.

Hi, Marciab,
Thanks for the note.
Working in Riverton and living in Lander is bad enough when I have to drive the suburban - gas costs, don't ya know. Too bad this is not like last winter when I rode my Jezebel every weekend but one. Oh, Well, Spring is on the way. I would not mind finding a piece of ground 'out', and having a small house in town - just can't really afford to do it that way. I guess there is always Publisher's Clearing House. I've been pretty active with the Ron Paul thing here in Lander lately. That, the new job, the old job, the Arizona client, have all been taking up time. One of these days!!!!!
I would have liked to see Wyoming a few decades ago. I have seen the changes in the Lander area since 1999 and can't say I like what I've seen. It's getting too much like the "big city" for my taste.
Be safe & well,
