My wife and I live in a smallish city in central Virginia. Our long term plans have always been to move out west..with a preference for the climate of Southwest America. However for another Free State endeavor we would resolve to withstand the cold. I say 'another' free state project because we were members of the original FSP. (We were released from our obligation once New Hampshire was chosen).
I am an insurance agent for a very large agency. Personally, I am licensed in Property & Casualty for about 25 states. When I'm not at my job I am a full-time volunteer for Ron Paul in Virginia.
I understand there is a 10 post requirement for membership. I do not post much on forums so I expect I'll get there slower than most. I look forward to meeting all of you.

Welcome! Read through the various boards and you'll probably find at least 10 things to comment on. A few words are fine. Not many of us write much at all, really.
The "COLD" is more a matter of attitude and preparation. Don't let it stand in your way. I lived all my life in Southern California and was really afraid I couldn't "take it," but I've adjusted remarkably. I'm 61 years old, and was not in good health before I came here. :) Now I am!! Amazing what freedom can do for you.
Plan on coming to the '08 Jamboree if possible. That's the best way to get to know us, and to let us get to know you. And besides, you get to see at least some of beautiful Wyoming! ~W~ ~W~

Now I see the true reason Boston picked chilly Wyoming...he wanted to keep all the whiners out...

Resolve,
Welcome to the forum.
I come from southern NV. This is my first winter in WY. Yeah, it's different all right. It's compounded by the fact that I chose to live WAAAAY out in the boonies and so have the weather to contend with big time (just bought a snow plow for the 4x4 this week).
But today I went out for a hike up the road. Mine were still the only tracks since the snow fell a week ago. It's beautiful up here. Yes, it's cold, but it does keep the softies from coming up here.

Howdy Resolve.
Glad to have you on board. Curious what part of Virginia you're from. If you're close enough maybe we can get together and punch some paper or plastic bottles :)

Resolve,
This is my first winter here. I am a native Texan. I am here with half of my children and I must say so far I will take a Wyoming winter over a central North Texas winter any year. This time next year I will be a literal neighbor of Mac's as I bought land next to his but as yet have no structure there to live in. Come on out soon, at least for a visit and check the Equality State out/ It is lovely.

Good book Paul. I love the area around Medicine bow.

Welcome Resolve,
I would say that this is our best chance at, in the least, maintaining and possibly gaining an increasing measure of freedom.

Resolve,
Good to see a fellow Old Dominion native on the Wyoming trail. Are you anywhere near Farmville? (graduated from Longwood U a while back.)
