I also just recieved my copy of Molon Labe and I'm already half-way through it.  It is already making me think about freedom more than ever before.

I have read both Molon Labe and BGB in the last couple months.  They certainly changed the way I think about things.  I just recieved Hologram of Liberty two days ago.  I haven't started it yet, but am anxious to see what Boston has to say in it as well.  My brother, who bought me ML and BGB, said that I got wrecked by them also.   ;)

Got "You and the Police", wife and I both read it. Got BGB, am reading it. Wife and I got two copies of "Molon Labe", have been reading in bed together before sleep. Then we both have disturbing and beautiful dreams. Then wake up talking about it each morning.

Then we met with Appleseed folk and took a lesson yesterday.

I feel like we're in a crash-course boot camp/grad school. I have a lot of opinions, and some resistance, and may or may not "join up."  I have a LOT of internal fight with any "group think", even group think that is working toward spiritual and personal independence. I have always refused to join any "movements" or take any long-term oaths. And childhood experiences with forced organized religion (all-boys Episcopal boarding/reform school) gave me "contempt prior to investigation" to any mentions of Christ, even outside the context of that elaborate and organized framework.

But all of this new information, ALL of it, has kinda blown my mind. Wife's mind too. I've never woken up before in a literal cold sweat after a dream that my spirit is floating over a cold modern Western battlefield full of corpses, looking down as I fly away and meet my wife's spirit in the blood steam cloud, joining her in a happy and contented eternal hug.

I do know that I haven't watched TV in a week. Partially because I've been too busy reading and shooting, and partially because TV seems even more horrible and full of lies than it used to, and I've always felt it was horrible and full of lies.

The overall feeling I'm getting is this: I believe that the SHTF scenario in Molan Labe! is unlikely to unfold near the time line presented in the book. (And I do understand that it's a work of fiction, though sometimes have to remind myself that while reading it). No one is yet unsuccessfully trying to trade a beautiful large home in Orange County for an acre and a trailer in Wyoming.

But I am finally realizing that fighting disarmament now will keep a new Hitler/Pol Pot/Stalin from enslaving and destroying my wife's kids (both in their mid-20s) when they're in their 50s, 60s, 70s, when I'm either very old or dead. (And her son lives in Orange County, which very likely WOULD be a bad flash point for SHTF.)

I'm just glad that I had that summer way job way back when, working as a grunt on a geotechnical survey team. I think that at some point, handiness with post hole diggers may be more valuable than all my computer and media skills combined.

Today is the 12th, I have finished both books and have a lot to think about.  I used to be a member of the NRA but quit when they sold out to Bush the first. I may have to join again and also GOA.
