I just registered, and thought I should drop in and make an introduction.
DH and I have been living in what I thought was a reasonably safe area for 10 years.
We are in Pahrump, Nevada, which is about 60 miles west (or so) of Las Vegas.
It's pretty rural, and fairly conservative, but the population of this town has grown to the point that I am becoming concerned. With that growth comes the inevitable influx of liberal thinking.
We really thought we could hunker down here forever, now I doubt that.
Here in Pahrump, there are maybe a hundred people I know, that stand for freedom. All are Ron Paul supporters, and many of us worked very hard for Ron Paul. In fact, Nye County voted for Ron Paul in the primary. But a hundred folks, out of some 40,000 people, is lousy odds.
We are too close to California here, and they come in droves to buy acres of land for the same money a studio apartment condo in Santa Monica would cost them.
We thought we were fairly safe here, and we are very much into prepping.
However, after this insane, and shameful bill that the congress has rammed through, I am afraid, for not only myself, but my country entirely.
I think it is time for us, as quickly as we can, to relocate to an area where there are like minded people that understand freedom and the verbage and the meaning of the Constitution and The Bill Of Rights.
So I am happy I found you. I hope to possibly join you in Wyoming before too long.

Wyoming isn't perfect. There are liberal idiots here too, just not very many! :)
Take a tour around the forum here and get to know us. Ask questions, join the discussions and most importantly, plan to visit us soon.

I too am from Pahrump. Formerly that is.
I've posted here about the big town hall meeting just 2 weeks ago regarding the town manager wanting to ban guns on town property. Search for the word Pahrump and you'll find it.
Did you happen to go to the meeting along with some of my friends?
And is "The Flagman" still walking up and down the main road with his flag, his gun, and his Bill of Rights literature?
All in all, Pahrump is a pretty good place.
If I may ask, what are your real complaints about the place? Maybe it's changed, but I keep a pretty close eye on the goings on, even reading the PVT twice a week.

Hi Stown, No I am in Colorado because of a job transfer . I have 10 acres in Wyoming and family there, so will retire there when the time comes.
What other forum did I post so well on? :)
