Title: Introducing Me!
Post by: Hi-oopi on June 15, 2009, 09:50:01 PM
Hello all!  I am Hi-oopi. CS (Colonial Shooter) kidnapped my heart and is holding it hostage ... I love every minute of it!

Some of you may know me from Douglas a month or so ago. Unfortunately though, I don't know most of you! Well, I mean I know of most of you, just never met you yet! I am looking forward to meeting everyone and I can't wait to be able to put faces with names!

Back to introducing myself! I'm originally from Missouri (around Osage Beach, Eldon to be exact). I moved to Wyoming for no good reason, but I'm here that's all that counts!

Something interesting about me is I'm Comanche. My great great great great Grandfather was Quannah Parker, the last Indian Chief to give up his rights. Hi-oopi is actually my Indian name given to me by my Grandmother Tot-si-yah. Hi-oopi means sunflower (in Comanche). She always says I used to look like I had been kissed by the sun. Being fair skinned, mid-summer in Texas, sunburns were inevitable.

One of my favorite motto's is, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." Because I may be young, but I definitely do not fit into the "Why" generation stereotype. (this tends to shock most people)

If you would like to know more just ask as I cannot think of anything else interesting to say.

~Hi-oopi

What part of "I LOVE every minute of it" did you not read :P

And only glad :(

Eh, oh well, I'm MORE than excited, ask Lance, he knew first hand how excited I was (for Douglas)

Oh my, I forgot to include my family in my post!!! :(

The most important part of my family (except CS (now)), is Geena! She is so ugly she is cute, and don't ask me what breed she is.  She has to be something like beagle and pit. She loves hunting, and she has the brindle of a pit.

She was saved from being abused, so she is a pansy, I still love her though!

Hi Hi-oopi, (sounds redundant) I'm glad that you made it to Wy. I noticed that you are considered a 'Lurker'. Do you feel comfortable with that title? Its ok...it's sort of a 'hazing' that everyone must go through to see if they have what it takes to be part of this. I think you'll survive. I'm glad to have met you in person and see you on a daily basis. Yes I live in a well armed house with others from the forum. Welcome Hi-oopi!

Sadly due to jumping off from out east before waiting to get out o' the debt woods and a immediate monetary opportunity (seven days a week  :'(), we will not be attending the event formerly known as JAM this weekend either...but our hearts will be in Crook & Weston County with all our FSW friends, even if our bodies are stuck in state though further west...

We are getting the kids to put on a Sun Dance  ;) so everyone doesn't get soaked...since Wyoming mud is something to write home about...it'll make you inches taller if walking and feet shorter if driving.

Anywho, Welcome On Board Hi-Oopi and can't wait to meet you live!

Take Care.

Welcome! All I really needed to know about you was displayed in CS's face when he told me about you. :) He was glowing... and that's quite a compliment to any woman.

I'm so glad you are here, and hope you can come with him to the Appleseed in Newcastle in September so I can meet you in person.  Sorry you can't come to the camp out, but such is life sometimes.

Welcome to the family. :)

Oh yeah, I just remembered this... Manumit, since WHEN do people bring laptop computers camping?  He (CS) completely cheated, he wasn't supposed to know the meaning of the french I was telling him. Now I have to worry about you being at a shoot when I start throwing french at him :P!

And Joel, I don't prefer the term "Lurker" sounds kind of stalkerish and creepy to me, but hey that's what I'm considered.... for now. I'm glad to see you got on the forums to say hi and yes hi Hi-oopi is very redundant! I you prefer you can always call me by Amanda. I don't mind.

P.S. Still haven't figured out how to upload my avatar :(  hmm.. maybe I have to be a member to upload stuff to the forums.  Any ideas?

Welcome to our humble boards!

So, have you guys picked a date yet?    ;D

I'm honored to have met you during your first "date" with Colonial... nice shooting... keep up the good work!   Hope that Colonial is learnin' you to be a Rifleperson as well.

Hope to see ya'll soon!   Maybe we should meet for dinner sometime.   Say half way between Sheridan and Casper... like Kaycee... anywhere to eat in Kaycee?

Hello again Count!! :D

Why are you so interested in us picking a date? GOT A COUPLE BETS GOING... so I heard ...

Thanks for the compliment in my shooting, still have my target, with all your holes in it  ;D. Showed it to my boss and had to explain that I wasn't that bad, but someone else was shooting intentionally in the corners! LOL!

He is learning me pretty hard to be a Rifle-lover.  I guess I am pretty persuaded already to be one.  Not to mention that Biathlon and CS both made me answer the question... "what is a pistol for?"   Apparently I haven't read that Boston book yet, but I'm working on ML atm.

Exxon doesn't have that good of hot dogs in Kaycee so apparently we are going to come up there and maybe meet you in Buffalo? or something like that.  How does that sound? "His wife isn't exempt from dinner"  quoting CS himself. Just call him and make some plans.

Nice to talk to you again!

If you come that far you might as well make it the extra 25 minutes into Sheridan.   Although, Buffalo does have Winchester Steakhouse... yummm...  Probably going to have to get a job before I can go back there.

Regardless, sounds like a plan.  We can call it a pre-engagement dinner  ;)

We will see! I wouldn't mind, I haven't seen much of Wyoming since I've been here. When I went to Douglas that was my second outing, Riverton being my first.

Although, Buffalo does have Winchester Steakhouse...

I haven't been to a "good" steak house since Texas Longhorns in Missouri.  I miss Lambert's too!  It's hard to find a really good dinner place here in Casper.  Just makes me want to cook at home more!

See ya around Count!

ROTHFLMAO   :o :o

You're not setting the bar very high at all!!  These "franchise" steak places have gone downhill in the last 3 years...smaller and smaller steaks with LOWER & LOWER quality.

I've learned the best steaks & times are had in small groups on personal property... ;D

Yea,  well I've heard that the White House in Sheridan is pretty decent.   When motivated the head chef cooks up some darn good stuff.    Sous-chef does some nice work herself...  Might be a bit on the spicy side for some folks ;)

Not at all.... Now to get her behind a good rifle. Still waiting for it to show up! It will come eventually, she should start this weekend at the AS in Casper.

Ok, I'm from ELDON... 5000 people... I went to college in Springfield (MSU formerly known as SMSU for non acronym folks that's Missouri State University formerly known as Southwest Missouri State University). I only went for a year because .. hell I'm still paying on those student loans.  Anyways back to my point... I haven't been to a Texas Longhorns in about 3 or 4 years.  Mom picked up an Applebee's habit and we haven't been to Longhorns since :(.   But I will stand firm in this opinion and no one will back me down; Lambert's in Springfield is the bestest restaurant ever!  It's the best down to earth, country eatin' served right in a cast iron pan! Got to love it!

colonial I hope you don't regret honing her pistol marksmanship skills! ;D

What's that supposed to mean? The only person I would shoot intentionally without good cause is my ex-fiance. (Trust me there's good cause)  I don't think CS has ANY worries about my "skillz"! If anything, he'll be happy because he can send me out hunting for the food!  Nothing like hearing the words "Honey, I'm home, AND I brought dinner!!"  Oh not to mention that he knows that if someone messes with me, I'm more than capable to defend myself!

He wishes :/.  I'm more shy than he thinks.  I like learning by myself.. it's a bad habit I MUST break!  But we will see this weekend I hope.

Welcome Hi-oopi.  Right now I am not too far from the Lake....  We will get down there around the July 4th probably....  Glad you are aboard here.  Wish I was there instead of close the Lake....
