Howdy, howdy, howdy,
I would like to sell some FSW silver ounce coins, if there is any interest. I don't know what the going price is, so I guess this thread will determine that. These are nice, uncirculated one ounce coins, see here: http://freestatewyoming.org/general-store.html (http://freestatewyoming.org/general-store.html)
Anyone interested?
-
Hmm, I'm interested...although probably won't have the cash until probably May or so (have to take care of some other things first). :(
-
I'm interested in some. PM me if you still have some available.
-
Interested- PM sent.

Five people have expressed interest so far, but no one made me an offer, they all just asked me for a price! So, here is my offer: $75 each. These are collectible coins, they are really quite beautiful, and they are simply unavailable. This may be your only opportunity to buy any, ever. It was a small run, and I think those who bought them mainly intend to keep them. As far as I know, they will never be minted again.
I have a bunch of coins of various sorts from around the world, and as I think about it now, the FSW coin design is sincerely my favorite. The relief map, the buffalo,... It just really looks sharp and classy. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I like Wyoming and love freedom and so the coin is making a bold statement which I wholeheartedly agree with. If you agree too, you will like these coins.
I have 13 available.

Nah, I'm not THAT interested in them! They are pretty but I wouldn't be buying them for being pretty, if ya know what I mean.
Thanks anyways.
-
Indeed, there are many other far better options for just plain bullion aquisition. Your "swimming pool" coins (ala Scrooge McDuck). These are mantlepiece coins. Or something like that.
-
I'll be withdrawing my interest at this point as well. Thanks anyway.
-
Yikes, I guess I won't be PMing about these.
-
John, if you check the prices of these silver rounds (which is essentially what the FSW coins are) you may get a better idea of the price you'd expect to get.

75 apiece is way over the top.
-
There are now ten left.

I guess it was good that I didn't send in my offer of $20 each!

Cheap skate! Heck even I thought of offering the same premium over todays spot price. ::)
Clearly he found other "opportunities".

Well, thank you for the advice, but these are not bullion coins. They are special, they are collectible, and they are a tangible talisman representing freedom and Wyoming. A closer comparison would be this: http://mises.org/store/Mises-Silver-Coin-P624.aspx (http://mises.org/store/Mises-Silver-Coin-P624.aspx) , except for mine are not in active minting and easily available. Since they are selling, it would appear my price is at or below market.
If you are looking for bullion, the page you linked to is OK prices, depending on shipping. That's where they get you. I could find you a better price, like maybe .50 over spot, if you can buy somewhat in bulk. I could help you buy some, if that's what you're looking for. Good luck!
-
$75 is about right.
Whenever I sell off a coin or two from my private stash, I get $80.
Only 1,000 were minted in 2005, plus 100 proofs in lucite case.

Interesting thread.
I carry one of these as my lucky coin. They are very handsome, and very unique. My favorite part of these is the buffalo.
I can't believe I thought real hard about buying a whole roll of these from Boston, back when silver spot was $7 per ounce and the coins some more than that.
For collector reasons, they are definitely worth $75-$80. After all, there aren't going to be anymore made. If you want bulk silver, buy 'junk' silver at spot. These FSW coins aren't 'junk'.
-
The price is what someone is willing to pay.
-
Yeah, and I can't believe that I let them go so cheaply!
$4 over total unit cost, IIRC, and that was after fronting my own silver.
So, don't let the original price miscolor anyone's perception of today's market value.
Anything under $50 is giving them away.

If you could get commitment from a certain number of people, is there a possibility of doing another run?

Boston,
If there is enough interest, my previous offer still stands.
-
Current price is $75-80. I have a couple left, which I may be tempted to sell
only in person, as some of you know.
I need to tally up the investment support for any 2010 run of a new coin,
and then decide. Also, figure out a fair raw silver to FSW coin ratio.

Cool idea. It'd be nice to see another run of these considering their
great design and what they symbolize.
I wonder if something like this would work: Those willing to contribute
to the run could do so in 1 oz rounds. For every 3 oz contributed
1 oz goes towards the raw silver, 1 oz towards minting cost and effort and
1 oz in return for receiving one of the newly minted coins.
Just before minting the rounds would exchanged for 1000 oz bars which
would be shipped directly to the mint.
Whatever ratio is agreed upon I'd be willing to kick in to get, say,
10 FSWs back after it was all over. . . happy to keep most of the process
out of FRNs ;)

AZ Rat,
Still available for the same price of $75. Sold...I don't remember... 4 or 5 I think, back when I posted this thread. So, there's still a few left. Let me know somehow if you're interested. Make it a great day!
By the way, I hope I didn't offend anyone by the price. People are funny about prices (evil price gougers must be stopped!!!), so one tries to be careful. I'm not trying to rip anyone off!! And I might be willing to go a little lower if you buy more than one, just PM me. Thanks!
