*Mods please move if this question is answered elsewhere*
I've been a lurker on the site for awhile, just finished Molon Labe for the first time, and think that WY should have won for FSP. I have family in the Afton, WY area and have visited other parts of the state. I'll make an actual "hello" thread as time permits but for now have a question.
Is there a thread or somewhere that shows how many people have officially signed up to move to WY? I found "the 300" thread but not mention of how many out of that 300 were filled or if that goal has been met.
Thanks in advance,

Yeah, it's been addressed, and the short answer is "no one knows" :D :D

Welcome, Stratispho. The really wonderful thing about FSW - at least to me - is that our focus is on building freedom communities, for mutual aid and defense, and just being good neighbors to all. We don't have "officials" or club "officers," meetings, dues, bylaws (except the good neighbor part) and nobody keeps track of who or where we are. We each go about fulfilling the purpose in our own way, at our own pace. Some get into politics and some do not. Everyone benefits from this freedom.

Loose, but very tight bond.

sounds good to me! ;D

Instead of starting a new thread figured I'd post to my own from earlier and turn this into my "hello" thread.
I've been lurking for a bit and then decided to sign up so I could post a couple of comments. Figured it would be good to give a little background.
I'm late 20's, married with 2 kids and 1 more on the way that should be here in a few weeks. Currently living in the Phoenix AZ area. My current hobbies are brewing my own beer and wine, reloading ammunition with my Hornady progressive, going paintballing, and spending time with the kids. I love guns, I love shooting, and the freedom to do what I would like, without infringing upon anyone else.
I've spent the last 10 years or so going from living with my parents in a strict Conservative, Mormon household to being a voluntaryist that could care less about religion except when someone forces their beliefs on me via legislation. I was 1st turned to the ideas of anarchy via Larken Rose and his tax information and rantings and then on to others. I spent 2007 and 2008 reading the ideas of Ron Paul and then found the anarchist philospher Stefan Molyneux at freedomainradio.com. In one of his podcasts he talked about the Free State Project and gave just enough of a hint to find the radio program Free Talk Live.
I currently listen to "free talk live" most every day, both of the hosts are members of the FSP. It really struck a chord with me as I already had been researching on my own trying to find the perfect place for my family. I had tentatively decided on Southern Colorado due to the price of the land, the climate, and the proximity to family being within a days drive. I even had a trip planned to head up to Durango to check some property out. The FSP really hit home but I had problems with moving east of the Mississippi. It has always been very low on my places to live due to the population concentration. While reading about it I did a net search to find some conflicting opinions about the FSP to make sure I got both sides. One of the things that popped up was the Free State Wyoming. Holy crap! Something in the West! And Wyoming none the less, my 2nd choice for places to live as I already have lots of family on the far western edge of Wyoming (afton/bedford area) and also into Idaho (driggs).
After reading Molon Labe I have to say I was ready to pack up and move in an instant, talking the wife into it is going to take more time though. I'll keep putting the idea in the head and keep looking for a job up somewhere in WY that is close enough to a city for shopping but far enough away to keep my privacy. The wife seems to think she needs a walmart within a 30 minute drive so that'll be a project all on it's own. :/
Looking forward to being able to talk the Mrs. into moving to WY so we can live a little more free.

Personally I think the FSW and FSP are complimentary movements AND philosophies...not "competing" as one of the FTL hosts put it while interviewing Boston last week.
Many of the folks & "in-your-face" tactics they are employing in NH WOULD NOT fit into the western culture very well. In addition, they are significantly behind the curve with:
**population--double Wyoming's
**proximity to and existing amount of statist lovers--Massachusetts
**length of time their legislature is in session vs. our 20 or 40 DAYS depending on the year
**actual amount of legislation they have to overcome
**number of enforcement officers of all stripes per 1,000 people
We have found just about everyone (outside of the typical "do-gooders") out here hates DC for something...from ranchers to oil-men to school boards, in fact this morning my foreman said:
Can you believe the sick irony of Obama signing the healthcare bill today on the anniversary of Patrick Henry's GIVE ME LIBERTY speech??
I said...the irony didn't start when Obama was elected, comrade. He chuckled and agreed this has been brewing for a looooonnnnggg time.
Welcome here!! Bring your wife and family up for a visit/tour...it works everytime 8)
