Title: Wanted: Camper

We are looking for a camper to stay in while we finish building our house. Needs to have shower/toilet, kitchen and heater with at least two decent sized beds. Would prefer a pull behind but would consider a motorhome. Nothing too new because we don't have much to spend on it.

Here's a few in our neighborhood...most are self-contained I believe...
1999 Coachman 31' $8,000
Winnebago $2,200 OBO (older model)
1978 18' NOMAD (probably too small for ya)
2009 32' Gulf Stream Sleeps 10  $10,000

I would also check out gsaauctions.gov for old FEMA camper trailers if you're interested at most prices you could probably get two one for the kids...AND ebay.com is a great resource as well.

Thanks! Where did find those at? Classifieds? I checked out the .gov site, they do have some really good deals. They didnt have any that would suit us but I'll check back and see what turns up.

Don't forget to check craigslist too, you can find awesome deals on there sometimes

Wow, those are pretty affordable compared to whats in my area. Anyone have any experience "winterizing" a trailer?

Hay bale/skirt the bottom.

Drop 500 lb. propane tank to run heaters.

Insulate windows better.

There are variations depending on conditions.  Folks do it all the time.... ;D

   I insulate my windows every winter in my mobile home. it makes a very big difference in your heat bill. I then put up my storm windows, in some cases where storm windows are missing I put up Visquine, stopping those drafts is half the battle. Since the temps are pretty hi this summer I only took out half the ins. my air conditioning is much more efficient too.
   I place oven strength foil in half of the windows to deflect the suns rays on the sunny side too. Any little thing helps.
