Title: Health care & thanks
Post by: bzrk on September 26, 2014, 11:16:20 AM
Hey all,
just wanted to thank all those who kept me in their thoughts and prayers.
I am home in Saratoga now and feeling great.
Just a recap for those who worry about healthcare being distant/slow in Wyoming.
I had chestpains two weeks ago, late at night.  After 6 asprin and a hot shower, I could no longer deny that I was NOT experiencing indigestion.  My wife called 911 and within 4 minutes a Saratoga police officer was in the bedroom calming my wife.  A short time later EMTs arrived, loaded me in the ambulance and zipped me to Rawlins ER (43 miles).  The ER crew did their normal 30 minute protocol in 11 minutes (meanwhile informing me that I was not crying wolf, but in the midst of a full blown heart attack).  Shortly thereafter, all pain was gone and I felt great.  They would not send me home, however, but insisted I go to Casper (150 road miles) and see my cardiologist.  They loaded me in a "Huey Pup" and by 0400 I was in Casper.  By 1000 I had a new stent and was released on Monday.  I had the same doc (Novak)  that my father in law had - for a successful 6way bypass!  Sorry for all the details, but just wanted folks to know that quality medical care is available even here in the "hinterland".
Thanks again for your kind thoughts
