OK.  The subtext and humor is all very French, but...

We were building Passive Solar homes (and commercial/religious/government buildings) in Wyoming back in the early 80s...

An entire subdivision in Lander even.

But not enough people cared/wanted to buy them to make it viable.

I mean, who wants a house that will heat itself to 54deg with no grid/fossil fuel input when it's well below zero outside.  AND is designed to ventilate itself to 10 degrees below external ambient in the summer without fans.  Madness!  ::)
