I know I'm not active on here anymore, thought I would stop by and see if anyone would be interested.
The company I work for just recently started building new snow fence.
We're able to give people a steep discount on these if we can put them on our 8 year reclamation cycle.
We're quickly getting to the point of having every snow fence in the state on an 8 year reclamation and maintenance cycle, funded by the sale of the reclaimed wood.  Free market FTW

Reclaimed wood as a aesthetic is popular, and just how many authentically old barns or other naturally weathered structures can there be available to tear down for this market?

This is a creative method of not only providing lower cost snow fences but based on an actual profitable mechanism of recycling after their useful lifetime.

Waste knot, want knot so to speak.  ;)

I was looking at the site (and I may be wrong) but I think they give you a discount to let them build a snow fence. Then eight years later they take the old, weathered boards down, replace them with new, and sell the weathered boards. This way you get a solid snow fence at a discount and they have a steady supply of weathered boards to sell for a big markup. Win-win.  :)

You are correct.

We can't keep up with the demand for the gray wood and there's not enough fence in Wyoming. This is our way of getting more wood out there while keeping the roads safer.
