Hi from Wisconsin
« on: June 09, 2011, 09:50:26 AM »
Hey everyone. I'm a politically active libertarian in WI. Preservation of freedom and slowing and reversing the intrusion of government are my passions. During my next 7 years, until my son is 18, I will continue to fight the fight here in WI.

But after that time I will move somewhere that has the culture of what I'm fighting for here on a daily basis. Shifting the daily effort from advancing freedom to exercising it myself. I've been to Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Colorado, etc. Beautiful country, all. My goal is to buy some land with cash, perhaps with a modest home already intact, and just live my own life while others around me live theirs. I'd like to own enough land that whatever I choose to do on my property doesn't intrude on the peace of others.

If this group can help me decide where to live, with the relative pro's and con's of various areas, and maybe even locate the precise piece of land to purchase, that would be truly awesome.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to meeting you.

Welcome! Do some serious reading on this forum and you should be able to get all your questions answered in general. Over the years, we've come to know that you can't really find what you are looking for in any detail until you actually put boots on the ground here and LOOK. Most of the real estate "deals" are never advertised and you just have to get to know the people in the area you like and talk to real estate agents all over the place. They don't put a lot of the bargains on line or even in mutual listings. Sort of clannish that way.

Try to make plans to attend next year's Jamboree as well. You'll meet FSW people from all over and be able to network to find what you want. But many of us will be glad to welcome you and show you our towns and areas in the meantime.
It's not that people are dumber, it's that stupidity used to be more painful.
