Wyoming or Bust! Here I come.
« on: October 01, 2007, 06:17:09 PM »
I'm tired of Southern California! Ever since moving here in the late 80's my heart has been elsewhere. I just didn't know where I would be happy with the politics; socialism is so wide-spread. After visiting Wyoming for the first time a few years ago, I've been dreaming of moving!

Three weeks ago I traveled to the Denver area to see some family. I also visited my friend's ranch in Wyoming again. I loved the few days I was there and felt totally at peace. My buddy and his wife noticed I fit in so they tried to convince me to stay and live at the ranch, but I laughed it off. I was afraid of the challenge and the uncertainty.

Well, I've been back for a week know and I'm miserable again. I'm back to hating everything about California, especially the lack of freedom. I started checking into moving my businesses to Wyoming and the more I searched, the more I realized how easy my move would be. I finally spoke to my friend and asked him if he and his wife were sincere about their offer and it turns out they are. I guess I  have only two choices; stay here and be a robot or move to Wyoming and Live. The choice is clear.

My friend wants me to move right away, but I'm out of funds and will most likely need to wait until spring. But, I'M COMING, LORD HELP ME I'M COMING! Typed words cannot express my excitement!

I'm still a little scared though!

Bless your heart! Go for it! I'm a California escapee myself and I wish I hadn't waited so long.

Liberator,
Glad to see you posting here.
But as one of our Wyoming members once said, hoping or wishing to be in WY is just a dream. You need a PLAN.
How are you going to get here? What job will you get? How much money do you need and how will you save it? How long will it take? What are you willing to give up to save for the move (assuming you have to save)?

Make up a plan, check each item off as you tackle it, and when all the items are checked you'll find yourself here!

Good luck!

Well I figure I'll just jump in the truck. I'll get to Barstow before I run out of gas, so I'll need a quick job to get me into Salt Lake. Then...just kidding! ;D

I'm working out the details slowly. By spring I should have the funds to get out there but the job is a tough one! I will also need to get a real estate license for Wyoming and set up an LLC for the firearms academy so I can work throughout the state. I've contacted the Dept. of Game and Fish to see what it will take to teach hunter education in Wyoming, but I haven't heard from anyone yet. All this should be pretty easy, I hope. I still can't figure out how to get the motorcycle to Wyoming and I don't have a place to put it once I'm here.

I was thinking about what to bring in the Blazer and all I can think of is clothes, books, guns, gun belts, holsters, reloading press, bullets, powder, primers, cases,...dies,....and....laptop, and...it pretty much stops there! Brain fart I guess.

My biggest concern is getting a job that will support me until I re-establish my real estate career!

I'm sure a more formal plan will materialize once the dust settles. Being single means I can do whatever I want and my decisions only affect me. Necessities are taken care of, it's the little details I'm working on. Either way, I'm coming. :D

The economy here is in real good shape and getting better all the time so if you have any real ability and solid work ethic finding work will be no problem at all. Maybe yer the guy that was prophesied to start "Half Inch Harvard"?
