Hello, New Guy
« on: July 18, 2007, 04:29:58 PM »
I am a Missourian right now who is looking at moving to the Cowboy State. But because I would like to have a living with a decent job, I'm gonna have to finish nursing school first I imagine.

Then, well, the plan is to head off to the Wyoming. How is it? I've lurked in the shadows here before, and it seems like a beautiful (if cold and dry) place, with not too many people but it does seem like the easiest place to change the politics of all the others.

Hello,

Finish nursing school and you will definitely have a job.  The hospital I work at is always in need of nurses.  In fact they have several grad nurses that are in a preceptorship program(they are paying them to learn on the job--I think the program lasts 12-16 months).

Glad to have you onboard--may Wyoming be in your future.

Brandy, tell me a little more about that. I figured that Wyoming would be a little hard up for medical personnel. Currently, I'm trying to knock out prerec courses, before I enter a nursing school. If they payed me to learn after I got my prerecs out of the way, I'd move much sooner than I thought I'd be able to.

Not sure of the specifics but I understand it is happening at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.  Supposedly you can fast track and be an RN in 2 years.  If I hear of anything else I will post it here.

Welcome Mordechai. UW and Lccc both have outstanding Nursing programs. I believe they have tuition waivers for graduates that agree to remain in Wyoming and work after graduation. Are you single? You'll LOVE Laramie.
