As was previously stated, Cheyenne is a fairly liberal city, so is Laramie considering the Univ. there. Cheyenne is the capitol and is full of politicians, lawyers and bureaucrats.

I wouldn't sneer too much at Cheyenne, or Laramie either. Both will seem like a breath of fresh air compared to the typical big city. Everything is relative. Bad politicians and bureaucrats are scattered all over the state, as are less bad  ::) ones. Remember, Wyoming having small towns (including Cheyenne and Casper), word gets around if you are a jerk, so politicians and bureaucrats are restrained at least somewhat by that fact.

Good Morning to All Freestaters.  I will be moving to Wyoming sometime in the summer of 2010. Somewhere in the northeast corner. I have benn thinking about this for years, but am now motivated by Obama's election. Freedom is in deep trouble. Are there any ham operators in the group? Bigduane
Why am I not in Wyoming Already? Because I have been lazy for years. I am coming to visit in 2010. To live forever in 2012. Look out Wyoming!!

Well, I'm now about 3/4 done with Molon Labe, and have ordered BGB and Hologram. I'd like to take a moment to compliment Boston on your excellent writing style. I am completely engrossed in Molon Labe, and am already considering immediately rereading it, unless my order comes in quickly.

Unfortunately on the moving to Wyoming front, it looks like that will be delayed for a bit- hopefully not too long, though. My wife has found an excellent house here in Arizona for about half the price it should be. IF the economy recovers, I'm hoping we'll be able to make enough off its sale to buy a nice large spread in Wyoming in a few years. We WILL get there eventually.

Very wise to make that decision now... rather than when the moving van is pulling away from the curb.

Besides... it's never a good thing to get the cook mad at you!

Then again, there is the "Vomit Comet" out of Riverton, which is just about the center of the state. From there, it's about 3 hours or less to just about anywhere in the state. Pretty decent rates on motels and lots of pretty good restaurants as well.
