If anyone goes to yard/garage sales, estate sales and the like, please keep your eyes open for a good set of fireplace tools with a stand. Nothing fancy, but better if nice and strong. Indoor wood basket or rack also a possibility.
Let me know what you find, the terms and we'll make a swap.
Also willing to buy or barter for firewood. Bags of pinecones very welcome!
Got a poker, scoop and bellows I'm bring with me that you can have, and I've generally got a couple of estra blacksmith tongs around if you want a pair of them to go with the rest. I'd suggest you consider keeping everything handy in a metral bucket rather than a wood or wicker container, just in case you need a hasty recepticle for ashes or coals. A two-gallon bucket works nicely, but a 5-gallon one is even more stable, and saves excess trips to dump ash.
I've also seen a pretty neat ash scoop made from a coffee can, that dumps into a bucket with a closed lid, into an extension made from a piece of stovepipe. That way most all of the ashes go into the bucket, and very little dust hits the air.
