UNCERTAINTY

 UNCERTAINTY
When all of the thinking gets to us and we’re worn out trying to decide,
When we’re sick of the Realtor’s websites, searching a place to reside,
When we’re amazed at the prices they’re asking for only an acre or two
And we know we won’t have the money to do what we would like to do,
We are tempted to give up our efforts, to say, “Aw heck, what’s the use?”
But can we remain in this same old condition with all hell about to break loose?
Then we wonder if our dream’s really worth it; should we give up and just remain here,
In our life’s old familiar territory, midst the things that we know and hold dear.
But we know there must be a solution, we know others who their way have found,
Who have moved and established their new home, on a piece of Wyoming ground.
Then we stop and consider the question, is “there” so much better than “here?”
And we again ask God, as we often have, for wisdom to see our way clear.
This gnawing within us to leave this old place, to seek a new home way out yonder,
From where does it come and what is the cause of all of this worry and ponder?
These instincts we have, inarticulate they be, continually through our mind roll,
Our spirit within us, with unconscious knowledge, speaks to our heart and our soul.
The battle rages on, an internal war between our intellect, emotion and will,
What then will it take to quiet the tempest, to feel that peace, and be still?
Only to follow where our spirit is leading, to follow whatever the cost,
For if we don’t follow this deep seated yearning, our dreams may forever be lost.
When Earth’s last picture is painted, and the tubes are twisted and dried,
Will it matter then what you dreamed of, longed for, where you lived and died?
Maybe not, but there’s something in knowing that you followed your dream all the way,
And your children may rise up and bless you, and follow your example someday.

Wonderful and moving, John. Thanks so much! :)

Here, here !

or should it be:  "There, there !", rather, for those inspired by your moving poem, yet 'not yet in Wyoming' !

Thanks,  TM
