Not a great introduction, but it is true. Here's why.
1. I am a Florida Fish and the idea of moving so far inland is strange, not to mention the weather is utterly different! (I will be a fish-stick if it is too cold.) Plus, fish is the only meat I really eat at all. Also, how is the growing season there? What vegetables and fruits are best grown there?
2. I have lived most of my life in rural areas (and the people were so much kinder than the cities), but my father was also very protective and I do not know if I am built to strike out on my own so far from family. (Just as examples of his sheltering, I thought ABC was a toy store not a liquor store, and until high school I thought condoms were fancy cats-eye marbles... I kind of settled on that random thought as a child because no one would answer me when I asked what they were. OCPD coming through, but you see my point.)
3. Where are most of the paleo-libertarians, confederates, anarcho-capitalists, classical liberals (not moderns

) and free-staters? County? City? What places have the most jobs? What types? Least restrictions (especially on homeschooling)?
4. How are the communities regarding electronics, communication and computers? I was thinking a really good way to make people interested in freedom was to both see who their neighbors are (broadly speaking) and putting down rules for their own land through an interactive program, perhaps like intranet.
5 & 6. I am also interested in places that would be open to approval voting (there are four different versions of that, but all seem better than what is more common) and vouchers to encourage privatization.
Lots of questions, but I want to get a general feel for what to expect, overall best places and how to compensate for what lacks.
I have been trying to find out what to do and have considered several things, including moving to other countries. To put it simply, while there are freer countries regarding ECONOMY (such as Hong Kong), I also want to be in a Christian-focused atmosphere. I am not saying that the laws are particularly Christian, but that there are so many Christians that iron is bound to sharpen iron, much like capitalism aims for the better product.
Anyway, the heritage institute (I think) made an interactive chart to find what country you would be best suited for based on what you are looking for in terms of certain freedoms (ranging from must-have to very important to slightly important to not important on gun laws, taxation, recreational drugs, no corruption, et cetera). I was admittedly relieved that the U.S. was my top (if I had to limit each choice, like must-haves, to using only 2-3 times).
Looking at states next, I was disappointed to see that New Hampshire was chosen, especially being surrounded by states that were diametrically opposed to freedom. South Dakota was the next choice on my list based on having the best economy according to this http://mercatus.org/freedom-50-states-2011/SD
However, according to some contact with a free-stater there, they are not as active as they were before and, in fact, this particular person was moving out of the state.
I am split between Florida and Wyoming now. Florida has the fourteenth best economic freedom rank, is practically surrounded by water and liberty-leaning states, and is where I currently live (obviously). Although we have problems with voting (the machines need to be chucked or at least used exclusively for those willing to pay or have a voucher system setup for the disabled, for whom they were intended for before they illegally forced it on ALL voters), it seems people are open to improving it.
I thought of starting a freedom campaign here starting with Liberty County (appropriate?), but I am not sure whether the population size will work for or against that, though it gives plenty of opportunity to set up that electronic neighborhood idea. Not to mention, I think Wyoming does better in being less restrictive on homeschooling.
Anyway, if you have read this far into my babbling, thank you and hopefully I will hear back on the questions and concerns. Later, God bless.
