Lander incoming
« on: May 20, 2012, 04:48:49 PM »
Whoo Hoo!  Finally ... after several years of planning and dreaming.
While only 99% official (still waiting for board of education meeting next Friday) I have been offered a job in Lander.
My current employer in California offered a retirement incentive that will pay for the move.

I plan to make the move in 2 trips in mid July.
One with a full U Haul truck and one vehicle to put in storage.
During that trip I will rent a house for me and the dogs.
Then I will make the second trip with 2 friends/neighbors with their truck towing a trailer.
I'll be in the second vehicle with the dogs.

From what I could see, rentals are few and far between in Lander.
Most likely I'll wind up in Hudson or Riverton.

Take care,
JT

Got any advice regarding finding a house for rent in that general area?

Well, coming from California, you will probably be more "comfortable" in Lander than many towns in WY.

I'm not sure that's a good thing, but it is a nice town.  I grew up there when it was still a mining town - before it became a Environmental College Town (before NOLS was taken over...)

Still, I love the area.

The desire to control the life of others by proxy, through “voting”, is just as evil… but more cowardly.
