The blogs are each a stand-alone installation. Since they and the forum all use MySQL and PHP, I'm sure they could be linked to run off the same login info. However, that would greatly increase the time and effort needed to update the software of either. An update to either could, and probably would, break things until the customization could be redone. I know that isn't what you are wanting to hear but linking the login info would be a huge can of worms.

Security issues aside, you can use the same username and password for each blog and the forum... You just have to register for each of them.

That's not a problem for me. But the passwords are issued to us. I don't see a way to change them...

And my password for Mac's blog still doesn't work anyway.

The blogs issue passwords? Ah, well you can see how often I've tinkered with them. 

Does he allow comments on his? Or it may be awaiting his approval. I'll take a look this evening.

Yes, the blog allows comments, but one must be "logged in" to leave one. I have logged in previously, but now I can't.

I can't log in because it won't accept my password. I didn't make up that password, so it must have come from somewhere else. I'd gladly change it, if I could figure out how. sigh...
