Checking in the net from NE Asia
« on: January 02, 2009, 05:52:57 AM »
Aloha from the ROK.... Living here and working for the .gov for the past decade has opened my eyes to see it's time to move elsewhere as soon as I can tie up loose ends.

I have a military background- USMC logistics, communications, maintenance management- and currently use that background in civil service. It's wasted talent, trust me. If the .mil gets hold of a GS guy who actually has a work ethic, he becomes a rented mule- and gets paid no more than the rest of the herd.

I'll be reading more than posting, but I'm looking to get back to the USA- and to Wyoming if possible- in the next two years.

Happy new year to all of you!

Welcome! We have quite a few Marines here, and I'm an old Marine brat/Navy widow. Hope you can come visit soon!

Howdy fermented cabbage,

What part of the country are you in?

My youngest son lived and worked in Korea before joining the Army... served 2 tours there and when he got out, he decided to stay there for a while longer. (That was 3 years ago). He lives in Gwangju.

He's completing his Masters now and is about to enter the job market (His MOS was counter-intelligence and his Masters is in the intelligence field). He has a brother who has the same MOS and is currently working as a GS13 at NATO in Brussels.

Happy new year to all!

I'm in Seoul. I have lived and traveled pretty much throughout the republic- except Cheju Island and Kunsan!
