I've had an account here just never posted. I'm definitely trying to get to Wyoming. i cant stand living in NC, with socialist parents unfortunately i had a problem with Id theft and had to move back in here.. they're in the other room watching the talking heads, i could just scream, my only friend and the guy who introduced me to this page is off on the road so nothing i can do but keep working and trying to get rid of my debt here which isn't too bad, and should be paid before the end of the year, nothing keeping me here thankfully other than that. no women worth dating here (sorry if there Are women living in NC who Are worth dating our numbers are thinning out ya know?) and family well.. that's a whole nother story well I've introduced myself if anyone wants to know any more just ask me

Welcome! Please be as active on the forum as you wish and I think you'll find a lot of encouragement and friendship.

What kind of work do you do? What would you like to do in Wyoming? Do you hunt, fish, shoot? Hobbies or interests otherwise? There are bound to be many who share your interests, whatever they are as long as they are about freedom. :)

oh mostly all I've found to do in this city is manual labor, here in Asheboro (if any of you keep up with Forbes we're the 4th fastest dying city in the US) all we have are mills and fast food and that's pretty much it... and ive always worked in mills, warehouse's etc etc i do like to fish every now and then but ive never had the time to take the hunter safety course so I've never been able to hunt, have seen some animals skinned and so forth. but other than that i don't have too many hobbies, when i was younger (and didn't care about anything) i spent my days entertaining myself with games or television or some other wasteful practice, i started to sew though (i know i know it isn't a MANLY craft, but hey its a skill and so far i find it interesting so  :P hahaha j/k ) have a slight interest in old things, got a bunch of old foreign currency from an old vet, the most interesting piece i got was a Reich coin, got the swastika and such on it. been trying to polish it up, i think it might be silver, not sure though. as to my beliefs im a reformed baptist, there isnt too much to me to know i dont suppose

I'd say any craft you can learn is as "manly" as you make it!! One of the best cooks I've ever known was a little bitty Chinese man. :) If you are interested in sewing, you might do well learning to sew on leather, or repairing clothing and leather items. I suspect we're going to be a long time needing to fix things rather than always buying new. And there are not too many folks who know how to fix things! Learn to fix small motors and other mechanical things. We'll probably be needing to recycle seriously pretty soon.

Personally, I sew (tipi's, jeans, shirts, jackets, packs, tents, quilts, canvas, leather), I used to knit, darn (used to have my grandfather's solid ivory darning egg), crotchet, cook, can, make jelly, one-helluva-baker, etc., etc. Yes, they are Manly Arts. Time was, most tailors were men, most bakers were men, most chefs were men. Ain't nothin' wrong with bein' able to take care of yerself!
One of the problems finding a 'girl-friend' is that I can cook better than most I've known (I don't do windows though!). I don't mind if they can outshoot me, why do they mind if I'm a better baker or cook. Hell, I'll cook if they do the dishes!
I wear a kilt too, and still there are few who would question my 'manliness'. I guess it could be the 3 feet of cold, sharp steel that goes with the kilt?

hahahaha My Last name is MCNEILL im also scottish or well ancestors were anyway... what a coincidence wow, thats alot of skills you have i want to learn more than i do, not just sowing, but here well im not too sure what i can do while im here without people to teach, i mean yeah i got books, country living books and so forth. my niece said sowing is only something girls do, i was tempted to say "well when things crash do you want uncle sam to come and clothe you and wash your clothes and feed you?" but she's young so i checked my tongue. ehh i just want Experience! and i cant get it here its annoying, i also do love cooking, i make an alright spaghetti, i was always better with breakfast stuff, well maybe not better, no i just like to make breakfast stuff more. bacon and eggs or sausage and some coffee. i dont know, i'd like to learn to make more, on the other hand, food cost's money and i may be employed now... but dont mean i'll stay employed tomorrow.. honestly i think they could do away with me if they wanted to.. i just wanna pay off my car, then i wont have any debt, other than what i need for gas etc etc but nothing major. and i can get out of this miserable place, oh and i work for a fabric company, sooo i can get my hands on leathers, vinyls, pretty much everything i might want, i also saw some of that camo thats popular in the bass pro magazines and so forth, when i can get some of that i dont know what i'll do with it but still, its some sweet stuff, i may sorta "stock up" on whatever fabrics i think may be useful. and i can get my hands on Velcro and loads of other things there so, well i just need practice which i can get here no problem, i got some constitution classes my friend gave me on here, the ones by Michael Badnarik they're pretty good so far, so much i wanna learn.. can fry my brain sometimes.

Those Badnarik (sp?) Constitution lectures are pretty good. I have a set of them myself. Seen him speak in person too in Las Vegas. He refers to himself as an iconoclast. He's right about that!

So Crusoe, what is it about WY that attracts you? It's a long way from home.

Do not let anyone shame you into not preparing yourself!!!  I do lots of "girl" things myself. Take you time and when you can, come visit.

When you say you have worked in mills does that just mean laborer? Have you worked on or around pumps, moters , heavy equipment, etc? Been through any safety training ? I ask because there are lots of industries in Wyoming that hire laborers and that have storehouses. If you can get in the door there are several places where you could work yourself into mechanical, electrical or operational jobs.

well what attracts me to Wyoming, well I've read through some of the testimonials of others who have moved west (or east depending on where they are) at the same time I'm attracted by the smaller populations, and I'm interested in becoming self reliant. here most people i know are in debt, when i mean mill work, yeah that includes warehouse's right now that's what i work in. i work at klaussner furniture in their fabric warehouse, getting up materials for the cutters nothing special. not much you need to know, i know how to operate some heavy equipment like fork lifts. but here like i said, if you were to look in the paper, there are no jobs. there Used to be trucker jobs and hospital jobs but no more jobs around here.

ah man cant stand living with maobama supporters, even though they say they aren't, they're always saying "at least he's trying to help" and I'm thinking NO HE ISN'T, creating more MONEY is not HELPING, it just SEEMS like it is, unless you understand inflation.. I'm gonna have a blood vessel burst in my brain before i ever get to Wyoming
