I have been lazy and have procrastinated in writing an introduction for quite a while now. As I have watched the unfolding daily events of the "Obamessiah" BHO and his administration with ever greater DISGUST, I recently wrote an e-mail to all of those with whom I regularly correspond by e-mail in an attempt to wake up some of my more complacent friends and acquaintances. I later realized that I could use it as a quick & dirty introduction of some of my beliefs to those of you here on this forum. Especially those of you who have expressed negativity towards those of us unfortunate enough to still be stranded in the People's State of Kalifornia and treat us as if we were lepers. I would think that the very fact that the few of us from Kalifornia who are actually drawn to this website would speak volumes about our character but apparently it does not so here goes.
"America needs to wake up from its complacency and materialism. We are rapidly approaching the point of being legislated & regulated back into a state of servitude and will all soon be serfs of the modern state. America is losing its freedom at an alarming rate. People need to stand up and take back control of their government before it is too late. I for one am tired of EXCESSIVE taxation, legislation, and regulation. We now have so many laws to govern us that everyone is guilty of some breech whether they know it or not. What people have forgotten is that morality and responsibility can not be legislated or regulated into existence, they must be learned. Laws can not make people good and citizens must realize that unless virtue is freely practiced, it isn't really virtue. If the state forces you to be good and obey through coercive measures you are little better than an automaton. Following laws solely because you are afraid of the consequences certainly does not make you a virtuous person. Our founding fathers would be disgusted and dismayed at how far we have strayed from their intent and founding ideals yet the "sheeple" are oblivious to what is happening around them. America, you must shake off your stupor and lethargy and reacquaint yourselves with what once made America great. Study our founding documents and the philosophies that inspired them. Study our founder's personal writings. Internalize those precepts and live by them daily. Unless you do, America will only be a bright spot in the history of mankind that burned brightly for a short but transitory period. Ben Franklin encouraged citizens to keep an open and inquisitive mind and said that "It is the first duty of every citizen to question authority."
People must get away from the left vs. right or liberal vs. conservative dichotomy. That is just a tool used to keep the people fighting amongst themselves rather than focus on the real issue which is servitude & submission to government vs. individual freedom. Ask yourselves the following question. In the last 20 years under Bush, Clinton, Bush, & Obama are we any freer than when we started? The answer is obviously NO! So I ask you then, what has been the difference between any of them really? Some will argue about the differences between Republicans & Democrats but when it actually comes right down to it does that really matter? Regardless of what the platform says, in practice the differences between the two parties are negligible. Our modern two party system has become nothing more than a struggle to maintain political power rather than truly serve the people. The bottom line here is that we have gradually and continually headed further into a state of tyranny and oppression. It is time that we stop squabbling about left & right, Democrat & Republican, Liberal & Conservative, and start questioning authority and our non-representing representatives (per Franklin's instructions). It is time that we asked them what they have done to contribute to the freedom of our country and its people! If they can not answer then they are unfit to hold office!!! If a legislator or politician has contributed nothing to the struggle for freedom during his term of office then he MUST be replaced. That is how they should be judged, not by their political affiliation which has been rendered meaningless in modern politics. When is the last time that you have heard of a lawmaker revoking a law? Almost never! Instead they daily pass ever more laws to limit your freedom and tell you what you can and can't do. How about removing a law for once, or passing one that actually protects the people's freedom rather than strip them of it? Thomas Jefferson said that "When the government fears the people, there is liberty; when the people fear the government, there is tyranny." It is time that our government started fearing us for a change as I for one am tired of the tyranny. For those of you who disagree with me I will close with the following quote:
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams (speech at the Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776)"
The one major issues for me that I did not address in my e-mail above is my complete, unbending, unyielding, and non-negotiable belief in the "Right to Keep and Bear Arms" for ALL people, including felons convicted of NON-violent crimes. I believe that we all have the God given right of self-defense which is manifested in the right to own and carry whatever firearm or individual weapon we so choose in any and all settings or locations (from the court house to the White House), from the smallest .22 cal Derringer to the fully automatic belt fed machinegun. I do not believe that any limitations as to the caliber, rate of fire, quantity of weapons or ammo purcahsed nor the imposition of waiting periods, testing, or permitting is constitutional. I know that this may not be the mainstream belief but I also fervently believe that this is the only policy which will ensure our continued freedom and independence from tyranny and opression.
