California loses another on the hunt for liberty.....
« on: July 02, 2009, 12:05:55 AM »
I never officially announced our move, we were planning on moving next spring but due to an unexpected change of events we will be moving.......next week.  It has all happened so quickly, we have been busy packing and trying to get everything in order.  We will be renting a duplex while we build a house on two acres in Washakie County.  I just cant believe how quick this has happened, just last month we thought we would be here for another year and now we're almost all packed up and ready to go.  We are going to spend the weekend enjoying what we love about this place and maybe spend a day at the beach before we hit the road. I'll keep yall posted on our progress.

In search for liberty,
LJ

Good news indeed. Look me up once you are here.

Yup. Every once in a while a surprise turns out to be good instead of bad.
Glad to hear it!

We're here!!!! We arrived last Tuesday but we couldn't get the internet hooked up until today.  Things are going good so far. Our place has more room than last place and it has a little yard so we are really enjoying the room.  It is kind of weird moving here from California(even though I have lived in Wy before), in kali nobody knows you nor do they care but here I feel like I'm walking into Cheers, where everybody knows your name. My husband was born and raised here so he is used to it but it kind of freaks me out a little bit.  I guess it wont be as bad when we get our house built and we are living outside town.  We have had one encounter with a bureaucrat so far, the mail lady brought our mail by and told us that she will not bring anymore mail until we move our mailbox out to the side walk. She could atleast have given us a few days to get settled. Besides that things have been great. Last night after dinner we took the kids out to the badlands and went for a hike, it was so peaceful, just us, the wind, and a rabbit here and there. I hope to get a chance to meet some of you sometime so if anyone happens to be around Worland let me know.

I'd talk with the Post Master first, before moving your mailbox.
Mine is on my porch and there has never been any notice to move it out to the sidewalk.
What are you supposed to do if your mailbox is a slot in the door?????

Was just through Washakie County this past weekend.
I ride up there quite a bit, would be interested in meeting for a coffee when you guys get settled in.
As long as you don't mind the Big, Ugly, Black Leather, Biker types with guns!  :o

Welcome, and be safe!

So glad you got here safe! Don't worry about the bureaucrats. They are few and all you have to do is stand your ground. Be polite, but firm. The ladies in the courthouse now get a kick out of seeing me come in with my pistol on my hip. :)

Oh cancel that, I didn't see the date, you are settled in Worland already. Let us know about it so those of us still figuring out "where" can hear about people, stuff, climate, first hand.
