Interesting...
OK... I'll try to give it a shot.
I was the Mayor of Garden Valley Idaho for a term. During that time a group called the "rainbow people"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Gathering Infiltrated and setup in a sensitive salmon spawning area of our county (Boise). By the time they had set up there were almost 40,000 of them by the Sheriff's count. Their BS almost bankrupt our county... babies being born, accidents, drug overdoes, and of course the selling and buying of children. They came into my city one night and pissed all over the produce and meat in our market. When it was tossed out they took it... they burglarized vacation homes and on and on.
Some of those people are living in our town here. There is them and the Californians. Now understand this, I moved to Idaho from California 15 years ago to land my family had owned for a century. My family helped to settle California in the 1860's and by the early 90's we were conservative refugees from a system gone haywire. Idaho was our first choice because of our connection to the land. Before long we started seeing the liberal elements moving into Boise. Example; Some nutcase saw kids sitting in the back of a pickup and demanded a new law to restrict that... it was unsafe! I grew up in the back of a pickup... The law proposal was tossed but year after year I see new liberal rules making their way in.
WHere I live we have a huge herd of whitetail. They're like rats. I shoot them and eat them... yet a neighbor from California argues that they were here before us and they have the claim to the land. Right, so I arrow a buck and he dies on their property and all hell breaks loose... F&G understood and let it go but they kept my deer. It's stuff like that. There is much more but basically CDA is turning into a Democratic destination and it sickens me. Obama this and that. Even the press here is starting to turn. Fortunately we still have our CCW rules in place and class 3's are all over but the future is clear and I don't want my son growing up in that sort of stuff.
Frankly, over the last few years I've learned that if someone from California makes a proposition you will lose. There is something you don't know happening and it isn't good. Lies are the start of that association.
Don't get me wrong on this either, there are other refugees from California, most from rural areas but the fact is that they have made a commitment to move and will make a commitment to support the rules as they exist, not try to change them. They also understand our values as they live in rural areas, not in some urban area where they have grown used to lies and misrepresentation. That is what is happening in Idaho... and they are getting the voting numbers..
