Today marks the 5th anniversary of my arrival in Wyoming!
Hard to believe. A lot of water under the bridge already. A lot accomplished. A real learning experience since I went "whole hog" and moved from "civilization" out into the boondocks onto undeveloped land, on a private road, 10 miles from pavement, and 70 miles to the nearest WalMart or Home Depot (the necessities of life).
It's been quite an adventure.
Would I do it again? Absolutely. It's been a real pleasure living in relative freedom from the controls of zoning, regulations, permits, inspections, and "land use". None here. And it's been a pleasure to go to businesses of all sorts, into people's homes, and even government building open carrying my defensive weapon and not raising a single eyebrow. (with perhaps one exception)
Has it been easy? No. It hasn't. It's been a lot of work at times. But with hard work comes rewards that are not possible in other places. Depends on what you want. Different strokes as they say.
Another 5 years? Don't know. At some point my health will limit my stay here. I hope to stay here as long as possible.
