Preppers per million by state

Wyoming is number two. Interestingly, New Hampshire is #1 and Vermont #3, and these three are way above the rest.

I'm curious as to how they are defining 'prepper', and is this only based on polling?

I'm surprised the Utah didn't rate higher since I thought that they generally embrace having significant food storage as part of being a Mormon?

No, I'm not cynical. Oh No.

The poll, if you read the link, is backwards from what you would expect to support the result in the headline.

They asked "preppers," identified as such because they frequent the website, to tell what State they lived in and why. The results were then normalized to weight the response distribution by State population density.

As you point out, this method would drastically under-count any population who are "prepared," but for reasons other than those espoused by the Modern Survival Blog.
