Not quite ready
« on: February 28, 2006, 03:44:34 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I was introduced to this forum from a member on another forum I visit quite a lot (the-niceguy.com/forum).  Although I'm not quite ready to make the move, I have been thinking about it for a few years now.

I have been looking at land in Montana and Wyoming, since I have lived most of my life in Idaho and am used to similar weather.  Things are far too crowded here for me now, but I have a few more years to get my daughter through high school before I'm ready to make a change.  What my state and country have become tears me up inside, and makes me long for simpler times.

It's comforting to know I'm not alone in wanting to reclaim my freedoms.

Mike

Howdy Mikeash!  I'm new also.  I was looking at Idaho as a possible relocation from Arizona.  Too crowded? Amazing!  I'm leaning more and more towards Wyoming for hunkering down permanently.  It  seems  to make good sense.

Welcome mikeash!  No, you are not alone.
Montana or Wyoming, you'll have many like-minded neighbors.
Tour both states extensively, and someplace will "speak" to you.

The problem with "not being quite ready" is several fold.

1. kids always make new friends even if they say they won't. I've "been there done that", both as a a kid and as an adult.

2. While your "waiting" for your kids, your future is going by.

3. It will cost more in a few years than it will cost in a few days, weeks months or years.
Lost time, lost momentum, lost opportunities, lost money, ect.

4. Your kids will grow up and leave, that's an undeniable fact of life. It's what your training them for, eh?

5. Y'all aint gettin any younger. The older ya get the harder it is.
