purple Hey, if y'all can, come by Moorcroft on Saturday and see my store. It will be the official grand opening (ribbon cutting is today at noon). There will be door prize drawings every hour on the half hour  :) starting at 10:30. The address is 200 N. Big Horn and I'm across the street from the post office.

Okay, I have grooming tools for horses which includes several types of hoof picks, bott knives, 7 or 8 types of grooming brushes, a good selection of saddle pads, reins, lead ropes, breast collars, headstalls, side pulls, combination breast collar/ headstall and rein sets, bits, stirrups, spurs, spur leather, snaps for ropes and other hardware for equipment. I have a few saddles, not many right now. All pleasure riding. I can get roper and barrel saddles but that would require one to select one from a catalog or be fairly specific and a down payment of at least 1/3. They are expensive and I do not have the funds to invest in them right now. I also have a nice selection of rugs and a catalog to look at if you want more traditional or contemporary styles. I have 2X4, 3X5, 4X6, 5X8, and can get 8X11 and sometimes larger than that. If you see a style you like, I can get it in these sizes. I also have toys for kids: some pillow dolls, squeeze balls, snap pops (for kids of all ages), booby traps, stuffed animals, candles, incense, some vintage blankets and some household items. I will probably get more odds and ends in the near future. Does this help??

Oh, hours would be nice to know. I am open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00-6:00. I reside a very short distance away so if y'all are nearby and it is non-business hours, give me a call and I will meet you there. I will likely stay open until 7:00 after Thanksgiving to accommodate shoppers. My number is 469-286-7028 (that is my cell and a Texas #. If that changes I will post it here.                                    motherfrog

Would you be interested in taking some things on consignment? I make leather and other garments, and have a large inventory of garment weight leather here to work with. I could make some vests and other things to sell. I don't make anything in large amounts and intend to produce quality, not quantity, so none of it is cheap.

Can also make custom drapery, chair or couch covers (NOT upholstery), repair or restore some leather items. Very old leather, in poor condition is not usually repairable, but I'll try.

Let me know if you want to talk about it. :)

Well. business has been a bit slow, but it has picked up  in the last week some. I had the ribbon cutting on Monday and the official "Grand Opening" is Saturday. The Moorcroft paper did an article this week and there is an ad in it as well, so I am hoping that will bring in LOTS of people. That and the prospect of a door prize every hour on the half hour. Consignments are in the near future. A man came in this week and wants to bring in some horse gear, used saddles, etc. As I do not have much in the way of saddles as yet, that is good. They are the biggest investment in the tack business and all I have is pleasure saddles at this time. Roper and barrel racing saddles are quite expensive and to actually have the size and color that any individual would want is not easily done. I have some friends that are doing some metal work, jewelry and leather items already, but more would be fine. Come by and see me with some of your stuff. I have room now, but as soon as I can sell the few furniture items I have in the store I am going to add a few tables and a clothes rack. There is enough floor space for more.

Great! I'll get busy and make some things. Winter is when I sew, so this is perfect. :)

ML, did you notify those people about the motor home? I have it on craigslist and it has been a disappointment. Three people have responded...all were Nigerian scammers. I even got a letter from some sort of potentate from the Central Bank of Nigeria saying someone has given me 5.000.000. . Well, I am not a happy camper here.                                         motherfrog

Yes, I did send them the information. Have not heard back from either one, but they are not frequent visitors to the forum either, and both work long hours. I'll make some phone calls and rattle their cages.  >:D

I'm sorry you've not gotten any response. Considering the housing situation here, that's a little strange. But it might be that most people are not too keen on spending a Wyoming winter in a motor home, thinking they'd probably be cold. Don't know. Seems it would be well worth checking out for someone desperate for a place to live, even temporary. No accounting for folks...  ::)

And I'm anxious to see you too! I'll be coming through there next weekend and will stop by to visit.

Understandable about spending a winter in a motor home here in Wyoming...but Richard(my #4 son/#5 kid accomplished that very thing this past year and did so with flying colors AND in am older, smaller motor home that is not as warm as this one. With propane and/or oil heaters I made it through two weekends per month from November to March...and it seemed to get COLD only on the trade day weekends I went to in Texas this past winter-it snowed on Easter weekend-unusual for NE Texas. It was quite comfy in the motor home I am selling. The cold is different in Texas than here and I think it can bite. Although I was up here in January and February this year the weather here was perversely warm for the duration of both visits. It was also mild when I came again in April. I think if Richard can make it through a Wyoming winter ANYONE can. I will see you next week then.         motherfrog
