Hello to FSW
« on: December 26, 2008, 09:28:47 AM »
My name is Ted and currently reside in SC. My son Chris(liberty tree), turned me on to the FSW phenomenon this year and I was surprised that I had not heard of it sooner. I have always taught my children to weigh every action against what I call "The Liberty Test". If what I do does not infringe on someone else's inherent liberties then it passes TLT. If a law forbids and/or punishes behavior that does not infringe on someone else's inherent liberties, then it does not pass the TLT. Chris bought BTP's Mol?? Lob? book, read it and now I am about half way through it. I am meeting more and more liberty minded people every day.

This past summer, my son, another boy and I had the privilege of joining 1000 other Boy Scouts in Jackson to build MTB, hiking trails and remove animal control fencing in the beautiful BT area. During that trip, Chris and I decided that WY would be no. 1 on our preferred relocate list. Since that trip, my wife is on board as well. She is constantly showing me properties that she has found for sale online. Chris has been accepted to Univ. of WY. Although he is torn between there and Clemson. There are a few things that make the move difficult in the short term. We have some major financial and personal commitments here and we would like to wait for the Real Estate market to recover some before we sell our 16ac property.

These things do not prevent me from giving my support in spirit however. There is also a possibility of making some headway here in SC. We have a very independent state minded governor (Mark Sanford) right now who doesn't hesitate to snub the USG about state sovereignty issues every chance he gets.

Are there any threads open by FSW's in SC right now? I saw one that says Carolina's but it is mainly folks from NC.

Glad to be here.

Welcome, Ted. I sure do hope the real estate situation there will improve, but I wouldn't bet my life on it.

Hope you can come out this spring and meet some of the bunch at our June campout. Let us know what we can do to help you. Bless you all, and see if you can get your wife to talk to us here too. She can get a very good idea of what Wyoming means to a woman. We've got a grand community here, and it sounds like you all would be a perfect fit. :)

ML - Thanks for the welcome and the invite for June. Chris has already been asking me about another trip out there next summer. BTW - I just saw a picture of you and Mac Frank holding caragana bushes in an online article from the Jackson

Forgot to say I'd just bought the rifle and didn't think to take the silly tie off of it until after the picture there at the gun show. We have a really neat gun show in Newcastle, put on by the gun club I belong to. Can't wait to introduce you all! :)

And Wayne, you sure do scare easy!  :P LOL

She's only scary because one look at her and you know that she refuses to be a victim. The grin helps as well.

Howdy micmed, glad you joined us here. I spent a couple of years in Jackson myself. Climbed the easy part of the Grand Teton with a group of scouts from Chicago back in 74.

It was a great experience for us. We camped on the front lawn of Jackson Hole HS for a week. Over 4 days my crew of 22 scouts managed to build 1.5 miles of brand new MTB trail near Teton Pass. I have lived in a number of different states and have never been smitten by the beauty of a place such as Wyoming. The folks aren't bad neither. ;D

When I was a younger man I always thought that spending my summers rebuilding the trails, that I usually hiked on,  would be great fun. I used to spend days at a time up in those Windrivers and Tetons with my brother or friends. Always felt right at home !
