Newbie here in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs.
« on: August 24, 2009, 01:48:00 PM »
Hello all.  Let me introduce myself.  I am mojolibertarian.  I am an attorney in the western suburbs of Cleveland, and I have just started a blog to spout off at http://frozencustardfordinner.blogspot.com.

It was just last week that I discovered this website.  Somewhere, somehow, I came across Molon Labe and Boston T. Party while surfing.  I've ordered that book and "The Conscience of a Libertarian" by Wayne Allyn Root off amazon.com and will be receiving them shortly.  I am looking forward to reading both books.  While I am still a registered Republican (I call myself a Republican with Libertarian leanings), I wonder how much longer it will be when I can no longer say that.  I am thinking very seriously of becoming a sustaining member of the Libertarian Party.  I'm getting sick of the corruption and authoritariansim I see in the People's Republic of Cuyahoga County.  I've wanted to run for a county judgeship, but I am wondering if this is forever out of reach at this point.

I am 40 years old, married, no children.  I have my own law practice here and have been a small businessman for over 11 years.  Someday if I can convince my wife, I may have to make a trip west.

We have been small town people, but it's usually just Ohio and West Virginia.  My wife would probably have culture shock in Wyoming (she's only been west of the Mississippi once in her life), and I myself have never been to the land of Cowboys and Freedom, but would love to visit.  I'm trying to convince her to take a trip to Yellowstone, Devil's Tower and Mount Rushmore.

Her response?  "I'm flying."   :D

Seriously, it is good to be here.

Welcome! No problem with flying out for a visit.  And, just to further your understanding of FSW, read Hologram of Liberty by Boston as well. Lots of people get the idea that we are all trying to live out the story in Molon Labe, and that is not the case. Just so you don't get unrealistic expectations. :)

And when you get to Devil's Tower, plan to stop by and visit MamaLiberty and the rest of the FSW bunch here in the NE corner.
It's not that people are dumber, it's that stupidity used to be more painful.

You both come on out. You'll find out we don't have two heads and bite. We still have a few uprisings but its not always the Indians but mostly just residents wondering what happened to our wonderful country in the last 50 yrs by the usurping self endowed royalty in office and the bureaucratic psychophants that do their bidding quite happily to keep their paychecks fat and coming steadily. Plus its a beautiful country. you'll enjoy your visit.
