Most of the big acreage places in Wyoming are owned by Chicago investment bankers... Us little folks try to get by with enough land to grow taters and bury a relative or two.

Our original plan was 40 rural acres.
But Paul Bonneau pretty much talked us out of it.

I like living in the "snuburbs" (suburbs within the city.)

I do both, in the city and have the 40 for when I need it. BTW thanks Michael, we are now getting the white stuff.... pretty deep here. Also in Casper

I chopped some wood today, felt like Jeremiah Johnson!
Also walked a mile round trip in the snow to a dentist appointment.

First time I've worked or walked in snow in 23 years. Was pretty nifty.

I noticed this thread after posting something else, and thought I'd add a couple.  This is 4" of snow and 50 MPH wind.  DON'T put your garage door on the leeward side of your home.   ;)





And when it's not snowing, it's doing something else.  This is a pretty typical August storm...

That photo of the door open and the snow completly covering the opening used to be common in the winter when I was growing up. We had to keep snow shovels and pails inside and tunnel out....  >:(
