I like:
Mountains
Trees
Warmer temps
Dislike:
Open plains
Strongest winds
Yeah, it's kinda funny about this stuff. People have these likes and dislikes, but humans are adaptable, you know? Cold? Your blood will thicken, and there is this high-tech thing called "clothes".

Another internet friend, on the WAL list, moved from Florida to Montana, and he's loving it.
For example, I grew up in nice green, forested northern Wisconsin. My Dad got a job in a town south of San Diego, and I just hated the look of it when we first moved there. And later I was stationed out in 29 Palms, right there out in the desert. Now, the desert would seem to be about the least likeable place there is, but, it kinda grows on you. Then I got to reading
Edward Abbey's books, and finally understood why.
Try to have an open mind about this. While constant wind does not have a lot to recommend it, at least the mosquitos aren't bad! You just have to be smart about where you site your home (hint: in the canyons and gullies, not on the ridgetops like the California immigrants around here do).
