Open-carry vacation to Wyoming
« on: June 04, 2009, 05:57:45 AM »
Howdy all. We're in the hotel in Provo, about to have breakfast, read the USA Today, then get in the car and drive to Wyoming. We're about 90 miles from the freedom to carry. I've never done it, and I'm up too early this morning, happy as a kid on Christmas.

Here's day one of blog post series, with photos:

I'll be blogging all week, with pix, about our adventures in Wyoming. Blog posts will be here:

Congrats, glad you like it out here!  Oh yeah, don't know if anyone told you, but you can buy fireworks year-round here - if your town has a fireworks stand.  And those ground squirrels we call prairie dogs.  Can't wait to meet you guys!

I know! Looking forward to it.

We had a blast today with Mac &Vicki, Richard, Jared. Very cool folks. Fun to finally meet some of y'all. It kinda feels like people on the Internet are "imaginary playmates" until you actually have lunch with 'em!  :D

Day 3 post 'n' pix up now:

Devil's Tower and antelope! Yay!

MWD and DJD, sleepy, happy, and watching "Red Dawn" in the hotel.  ~W~

Hey, great news, and thanks for the posts!
Maybe I'll catch up with you both in Cheyenne.

Good shooting at the Appleseed.

Thank you!

Day four is up now:
http://www.stinkfight.com/2009/06/06/open-carry-vacation-to-wyoming-day-4/

Good shooting at the Appleseed.

You're wishing us well, right? Or did you here and untrue rumor that we shot well today?  :D

I scored a 127 on the AQT (Army Qualifying Test). Good enough to not be relegated to cooking, but far from a rifleman. It’s a start. And pretty good for a guy who one year ago thought only police and soldiers should have guns.

I came up with a good one in Sundance: You know you're in Wyoming when the elevation is four times the population!

Been following Michael and DJ's trip on stinkfight.com.  I'm a big fan of Micheal's work, and he's a big fan of this group, so I thought I'd check it out for myself.  I don't plan on moving to Wyoming, but I do love freedom.  Hopefully that's enough to earn me a spot on this board.

Howdy raginredneck93, if you like freedom you are welcome here. Hope you stick around and read some of the other threads.

MWD , I am really enjoying your stories, I would have loved to know how the conversation went between the three boys at Mc D's and their parents, after the kids got home. Hopefully they were good Wyoming folks!

My name is Justin. I heard you mention FSW on your podcast last year, and that it had made you want to move to Wyoming. Glad you're finally really doing it!  I live in Montana, and I've spent a lot of time in Wyoming in my life.  It's a great place, and after living in California, you're going to think you died and went to the United States Of America or something.  Welcome to to one of the last remaining vestiges of freedom on the planet.

Well said raginredneck93, and welcome to the Forum!

Hey Michael and Debra Jean, I am really enjoying your posts at your blog site.

Do you want to share any figures as to how many visitors you get every day?
I think that you have tapped a whole new demographic for the FSW, well done.
Artists, film folk, and rockers, are often, at heart, Liberty oriented.

Exactly!

Wyoming reminds me of Sherman, NY when I was 5 (40 years ago.) Sherman is the town my dad grew up in, and its values are about 25 years behind the claw of "progress" in most of the rest of the country. So I'd say Wyoming, while it is modern in every way that matters to me, seems to have values that the rest of the country enjoyed right after WWII.

Welcome Justin. Good to have you here. And since you live in Montana, I won't tell you "you need to move to Wyoming" like I've told a few other liberty minded people.
