$3.459 for regular in Gillette today. Although I saw $3.59 across the street, it might have been one of those "cash prices" that I see at some stations.

For planning purposes it's probably best to build $8/gallon into expectations and work from there.
Anything less feels like a break and you end up with a mental buffer for the price volatility.

With the exception of Venezuela and the middle-east, the rest of the world has been
living with such 'outrageous' prices for quite some time.

The rest of the world dosent have zoning and allows you to work within walking distance from your home. Or even work in your home. Places that do have long commutes have cheap effective public transportation. I was in LA a few weeks ago and took the train. It cost me more and took twice as long as driving would have....

This spamer even changed the heading. I didn't know anyone could do that.

My daughter lives there. I now call it "The Land of Obama". When I lived there 50 years ago it was called "The Land of Lincoln". Probably equally bad.

Time to move, Dawg!

How quickly we become accustomed to things. Suddenly, what used to be outrageous, is now a deal!
And not just prices.
"Look mommy, that bad man isn't wearing his seat belt!"
"Look mommy, that bad woman is smoking outside!"
"Look mommy, that bad man eating a hamburger has a GUN on his belt!"
"Look mommy, those bad people across the street are shooting fireworks that go waaaay up! Isn't that illegal mommy?"

:(

The best we saw in southern California a week ago, and the week before that,  was $3.89...but California has a lot of gas taxes!

In Albuquerque a week ago, $2.89 was good. Mid-week, I found $2.85. Yesterday, $2.81!

(I would rather have it under $2 but even this is a positive trend for now. We emptied the stored cans into the Jeep and I'll refll them with $2.81 gas.)

Yeah, prices are relative to a lot of things. Don't remember what year, but I once filled up at $5.50 a gallon - So. Calif. long time ago.
