update:


We're in St. George, Utah at a hotel. 1/3 of way to our new home in Wyoming. yay!
Was a hellishly hot drive, 11 hours, in a big truck. We're very tired. And very happy!

So glad to hear you made it out of there without running into riots or being captured as fleeing tax slaves... :) Just think how sound you'll sleep once you make it home to Wyoming. :)

We're in a hotel tonight, tomorrow we drive to our new home in Casper.

Very tired, long hellish day, long story. and the cats hate us, but they're fine.

Congratulations! I'm glad you got out ahead of the riots after all. :)  And yes, Rich, I still get chills up and down my spine thinking of my escape from Calif... and my new life here. What a blessing.

Washing cats? Why would they need to be washed? No wonder they hate you!  :P >:D Let them wash themselves! Poor kitties. :)

Hi, Debra Jean,
Washing the cats is really easy!
Hold them by the handle provide by the Almighty ...
lift the lid, flush, dunk once or twice .....
let go and they will air dry at high speed!

If they are really dirty, just drop-in, close the lid and the super-agitation cycle begins immediately.
A note of warning, however ..... exercise extreme caution when opening the lid .... the angle of trajectory will be a complete unknown.

I used to love California. Then my grown son and daughter moved to Utah. Also I promised to join the FSNH folks but went up there and didn't like the cold/humidity (cold/dry is better, imo).
and then came Boston and fsw and I'm only one state away. It seems the socialist/fascists all love sunny warm climates and go there and change the places to tyrannical: but friends in Monana say some ex Californians are trying to do it to Montana too. Sigh always opposing forces, never easy.
Anyway congratulations on your move, tell us about Casper when you are there for a while.

days. problem solved. ;)  Now if only you guys had something big enough to take out a buffalo cow hybrid, I
hate those things, the noises they make are worse than city noises.  :P

On the cat washing problem, I always had good luck with a shallow stock tank, say about 2 feet deep. Drop em
in and they get moist enough in the half second before they can bounce out. After that they take care of the
rest, and usually leave you alone for an hour or two.  >:D

Michael and Debra Jean wanted me to let everyone know that they made it safely yesterday afternoon.  They won't have Internet access for a couple days, but they're incredibly happy to be here.  As an aside, one of their new neighbors was the first to bring up the .45 caliber burglar repellent, on a positive.
